This recently taped video interview with Jimmy Wales (especially the
part beginning at 05:15) demonstrates that Wales is clearly cognizant
of how the era of peace rhetoric that surrounded the advent of the
telegraph was, in hindsight, charmingly fruitless.

Wales coaches us that it's not the technology, but how we use it.  So,
how should we use the Internet, Jimbo?

Apparently, the goal of a good blogger should be to "work for
neutrality".  And, the key to unlocking U.S.-Saudi Arabian relations
is... Muppets.
