[Dancecult-l] Electronic music and arts festivals

Just wondering if I could get a name check on important Electronic 
music and arts festivals from people on the list. [Im NOT talking 
about trance festivals or teknivals here] So im aware of Barcelona's 
Sonar, Berlin's Transmediale, Montreal's Mutek and Seattle's Decibel. 
What are the others? I'm curious to find out  more about how these 
events have developed and how they may be characterised by comparison 
to one another. For instance, what kind of genres of musics are 
showcased? Im also curious about events pushing boundaries like 
London's Netaudio festival and whether similar events are happening? 
And im curious about emergent fringe events with more of an activist 
angle, perhaps like Chicago's Version or This is Not Art in Newcastle 
Australia (ok the latter is not new) . Are there any chronologies or 
historical mappings been conducted on these EDM festivals? Generally 
im just curious. Any infos appreciated
