Ah - sorry - I only just read this mail.

BEWARE: '24 Hour People' is a fun film - hilarious in it cartoon like 
exaggerations, but Manchester's Haçienda club was hardly the wild west 
... The management was so shocked by the sight of a drawn knife and the 
threat of a gun (no shooting, in singular nor plural!!) , they even 
decided to close for 3 months ... They stubbornly refused to employ any 
gang-member, unlike elsewhere in UK club land. Lack of effective police 
protection was one of the reasons that The Haç closed it doors finally 
in 97.
