[Dancecult-l] violence

just a note to say I'm enjoying these conversations. I don't post much
here but I do read with fascination.

forgive me if I've missed this, but in discussing both concepts of
violence and raves, I'm thinking of raves that occur in places like
ibiza, or on various beaches in the Global South, do we include the
violence required by tourist economies to make places safe for these
kind of parties?

and Tobias' bear spray stories taken into account, the tensions
between "locals" (redneck or not) who live somewhere, and people who
show up to party in a space that they may leave and never think about
again, may have more complex dimensions, no?
