[Dancecult-l] Academic Quests in EDMC?

Hi Ryan

You raise a good question. Im not aware of any departments
"specialising" in psytrance per se, or even EDM. Maybe someone else
here might prove me wrong .... I guess approaching an individual who
is in an appropriate institutional context capable of supporting your
project, in a region most suited to your project, is a good way
forward. Your research, as far as I can tell from the information
you've provided, is a very new area - most scholars with any
specialisation in this are graduate students or fairly fresh out of
graduate school.

For my own part, while electronic trance is one of my interests,
unfortunately I am currently not in a context enabling the support of
graduate students.

Sounds like you may have already done this but you could re/visit the
People page on the dancecult list and approach those with senior
experience in EDM studies for their advice.

There is certainly scope for a "Prospective Graduate Students of
EDMC" page on the Dancecult website, which could list and feature
departments and schools of varying disciplines based on information
provided by contributors (i.e. staff in those departments and
schools). Perhaps we could russle something up - if anyone has
suggestions.

In addition we could also feature Undergraduate Courses in EDMC page.
I know there are number of people here running such courses, and a
list of these with brief descriptions and links could also work.

Thoughts appreciated

Graham
