Invitation<br>

You are invited to the launch of the Interactive Media and<br>
Performance Labs in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of<br>
Regina (Saskatchewan, Canada) on Wednesday, April 2nd from 4 to 7pm.<br>
<br>
The IMP Labs house a multi-media DJ interactive studio workshop and<br>
performance space, a beat-making and electronic music studio, an<br>
ethnomusicology lab, and research offices for graduate students and<br>
post-doctoral fellows. The labs have been created to support the<br>
research of Dr. Charity Marsh, Canada Research Chair in Interactive<br>
Media and Performance.<br>
<br>
During the launch, Dr. Charity Marsh will present her 5-year CRC<br>
research programme which includes an emphasis on Canadian Indigenous<br>
Hip Hop Culture, Local and Global DJ Cultures (EDM, Club Culture,<br>
Rave, Psy-Trance, Techno, Community and On-Line Radio), the<br>
Performance and Production of Popular Music in Western and Northern<br>
Canada, and Interactive Media and Technology. Following the research<br>
presentation Dr. Marsh will facilitate a roundtable discussion<br>
entitled, ?Hip-Hop Culture in Saskatchewan? with hip hop artists<br>
Eekwol, Mils, Def3, DJ Quartz, InfoRed, Merky Waters, Truth, ETea,<br>
and Aries, in Riddell Centre 050.<br>
<br>
Following the roundtable, the audience is invited to tour the labs<br>
and participate in demonstrations (Riddell Centre 049 and RC 025).<br>
<br>
The culmination of the launch is a performance by hip-hop artists<br>
Eekwol and Mils, with special guest Def3. The concert, along with a<br>
reception, will be held in Riddell Centre 176.<br>
