      Oproep aan CAWA-kunstenaars

      <br>

      <br>

      Hoe ziet jouw ideale studio er uit? Wat voor ateliers mis jij nog

      in Amsterdam? Welke experimentele en creatieve plekken kan deze

      stad wel gebruiken?

      <br>

      Op het terrein van Bajesdorp (Amstelkwartier) wordt in 2022 vanuit

      deze community een nieuwe woon- en werkbplaats voor kunstenaars

      & activisten gebouwd. Ons nieuwe gebouw komt in collectief

      bezit, zonder winstoogmerk, geheel volgens de principes van

      VrijCoop.

      We zitten nu nog in de ontwerpfase van het gebouw. De club is net

      uitgebreid met mensen die in het pand komen wonen en werken. Maar

      er is nog plek voor mensen die interesse hebben om een werkruimte

      in deze broedplaats te gaan huren (alleen, als duo of met meer).

      De ateliers willen wij dan ook het liefst laten vormgeven door de

      mensen die er uiteindelijk in gaan werken! En we grijpen deze kans

      graag aan om studio’s te realiseren in vormen die er nog niet of

      te weinig bestaan.

      Op dit moment zoeken we vooral kunstenaars die met ons mee willen

      denken tijdens de ontwerpfase. Je hoeft je nog niet vast te leggen

      om mee te kunnen doen aan het hele proces van het gebouw

      ontwerpen, financieren en community building.

      Shout out to CAWA artists

      How does your ideal studio look like? What kind of workshops do

      you still miss in Amsterdam? What are the experimental and

      creative spaces you think this city needs?

      <br>

      At the site of Bajesdorp, and rooted in its community, we are

      realising a new building for artists and activists to live and

      work in. Our building will be non-profit and collectively owned,

      according to the VrijCoop principles.

      <br>

      We are currently in the process of designing the building. We just

      invited another group into our collective to live and work with

      us. Yet, there is still space for artists who are interested in

      renting a workshop or studio in our creative community (either by

      themselves, as a duo or a whole group). Ideally we would like all

      studio’s and workshops to be shaped and tailored to the needs and

      desires of those who will actually work there. And we’d like to

      exploit this opportunity to realize studio’s and workspaces in

      shapes and sizes that don’t yet exist – but definitely should!

      At this stage, you don’t have to commit to the entire process of

      designing, funding and community building to be part of the

      design.
