De actiegroep ‘Wij Weigeren de Huurverhoging’ acht de maat vol. De leden stellen dat voor de coronacrisis volgens het NIBUD 25 procent van de huurders in de knel zat en dat dit alleen maar erger is geworden. De weigering van minister Ollongren om de motie van de Eerste Kamer over huurbevriezing uit te voeren, heeft de actiegroep ervan overtuigd dat er iets moet gebeuren.<br class=""> <br class="">De actiegroep is tegen Ollongrens maatwerkbeleid. Deze aanpak betekent volgens hen in veel gevallen dat huurders worden gedwongen tot een betalingsregeling, waardoor zo iemand langdurig op het sociale minimum kan terechtkomen. ‘Wij willen geen huurverhogingen en schuldenberg maar huurkwijtschelding en huurbevriezing.’<br class=""> <br class="">Er zijn nu door het hele land kernen van huurders die de verhoging niet willen betalen. Ze roepen huurders op om zich aan te sluiten. <br class=""> <br class="">Maar de nieuwe huren zijn toch al ingegaan? Nee, zegt Abel Heijkamp, die via de Bond Précaire Woonvormen betrokken is het bij het initiatief, het is nu nog een voorstel.
