A reminder that next Monday (10 September) the News & Media Research Centre at the University of Canberra is hosting the Misinformation and Media Symposium: Understanding the Spread of Misinformation in the Australian and US Media Fields. Topics covered include Filter Bubbles in the Australian Twittersphere?; Disinformation and Identity Politics: The Communication Strategies of Russian Trolls; From Stalin to Putin, an archaelogy of counter-propaganda; etc. Participants include journalists Michael Koziol (The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald) and Julie Hare (The Australian) as well as Internet Researchers Axel Bruns (Digital Media Research Centre, QUT) and Robert Ackland, VOSON Lab, School of Sociology, ANU).
