During the week of September 13, *In Media Res* will be hosting a film
festival theme week. The date aligns with the Toronto International Film
Festival, but contributors should feel free to focus their pieces in line
with their own research interests.
In case you are unfamiliar with this project, *In Media Res *is a subset of
Media Commons and continues its commitment to experimentation with scholarly
writing in a digital environment. As a curator, we would ask you to select
a video prompt of no more than 3 minutes and then write an essay of 300-350
words inspired by the video clip. These short essays are meant to be
conversation starters rather than complete arguments and may not require
more than afternoon’s commitment. You can check out past issues here:

If you are interested in participating, please submit your name, email,
affiliation and proposed topic description to the editors of *In Media Res*at
inmediares.gsu at gmail.com. In the subject line, please list "film festival
theme week proposal." You are also welcome to email me directly with any
questions.
Please feel free to forward this CFC to anyone you think might be interested
in taking part.
