**For those in the Toronto region**

Dear Festival Scholars,

At TIFF this year, a few of us discussed the possibility of organizing a
reading group that would focus on recent publications.

Given the impressive number of scholars who are researching film festivals
and are based in Toronto, a small group of us have decided to found a
reading group (tentatively named) "Film Festival Scholars of Toronto" that
will meet for the first time later this month. The meetings will be held
downtown, likely at the University of Toronto or Ryerson University.

Depending on interest and numbers, we may meet monthly or once every two
months to discuss recent publications in or relevant to the area of study
and works-in-progress by participants. It aims to provide a critical hub
for researchers and those teaching festivals. (Graduate students,
lecturers, retired profs, et al., are all welcome!)

If you are keen and based in the city (or adjoining region), do PM me with
your email address and research topic, and I will add you to the group's
listserv.
