<font size="2" color="#000000" style="font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; "><p><span>The Movies that Matter Festival 2017 welcomes film submissions! During nine days the festival presents around seventy fiction and documentary films, followed by Q&A's, talkshows and other side programmes. The Movies that Matter Festival screens films about human rights topics and (social) justice. The festival presents six awards, offering prize money of € 17.500. </span></p>
<p>To submit your film(s), please complete the <a href="http://www.moviesthatmatter.nl/english_index/festival/pers_en_professionals_en/submissions_en" target="_blank" data-system-id="21175.758.0">online entry form</a>. The deadline for submissions is <strong>December</strong> <strong>1st 2016</strong> and the selection will be announced in the beginning of February. The next edition of the Movies that Matter Festival takes place between 24 March – 1 April 2017.</p></font>

In November you can attend the festival <em>Sine Karbengan</em> in the Philippines. <td><font size="2" color="#000000" style="font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; "><p>Movies that Matter colleague Eric van de Giessen, coordinator of the International Support Programme, is part of the <a href="http://www.cinedoc-tbilisi.com/?cat=9" target="_blank">Civil DOC Competition</a> jury at the <strong>CinéDOC-Tbilisi</strong> Film Festival (21-25 October). Eric will also moderate the Civil pitch, matching Georgian civil society organizations with documentary filmmakers.</p>
<p>Maarten Stoltz, programmer of the Movies that Matter Festival, joins the jury of the <a href="http://oneworld.ro/2016/l/en/civil-society-pitch/" target="_blank">Civil Society Pitch</a> of <strong>One World Romania</strong> (14-16 October). It serves as a follow-up to a Pitch in March 2016, bringing together three teams of NGOs, Romanian human rights activists and passionate filmmakers.</p>
