The short - and paradoxical - answer is: <strong>“Because we love films!”</strong> We believe that while there are so many beautiful and relevant films being made, many of these productions do not get the audience they deserve. We promote screenings of <em>movies that matter</em> where they matter. Through training, grants and advice, we promote human rights film events in low-income countries and countries where press freedom is at stake.</p></font>

The workshops addressed diverse aspects of organising socially engaged film events, such as programming, publicity, education, fundraising and planning. In addition, attending the Movies that Matter Festival gave participants the opportunity to watch many films, attend side programmes and meet several interesting festival guests.</p></font>

On Friday the <a href="https://actfilmfest.colostate.edu" target="_blank">ACT Human Rights Film Festival</a> will start off in Colorado, USA, on that same day the <a href="https://www.zinemaetagizaeskubideak.eus/2019/index.php" target="_blank">Festival de Cine y Derechos Humanos Donostia</a> opens its doors San Sebastián, Spain.
