/At a moment when playful activities are becoming more and more
financialised (such as in monetised casual videogames) and when we
experience financial activities as more and more gamified (such as in
many online banking and investment apps), how does this impact our
attitudes towards finance, money, the value of attention, and our agency
in online activities?
/
This in-person and live-streamed event will bring together
interdisciplinary researchers from 12 countries working in and across
fields including Communications, Media Studies, Game Studies, Game
Design, Economics, Design, Sociology, Philosophy, and Critical Finance.

The keynote lecture “MONEY, THE METAVERSE & THE MAGIC CIRCLE” will be
given by Dr. Rachel O’Dwyer, (Lecturer in Digital Cultures, National
College of Art and Design, Dublin) on Friday 31 May, 17:00.
