My name is Jaap Kooijman and, together with Thomas Poell, I coordinate the first core course “Classic Texts in Media Theory.” Coming Monday, Thomas and I will explain the course to you and give you all the details about the literature and assignments. In the meantime, we would like to ask you the following:<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

In other words, which text has been “essential” of extremely “influential” in the way you perceive Media Studies or a related field? Feel free to pick any text that you think is most appropriate; don’t pick a text just because you think WE might consider it a classic text. If you have a hardcopy of the text, please bring it to class.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></LI>
