In the course of the last year tech companies have come under increasing public scrutiny with regard to privacy. This spring the Cambridge Analytica story broke about Facebook selling massive amounts of user data to third parties, and effectively being complicit in the manipulation of U.S. elections. Twitter came under fire for it's censorship of activist accounts linked to #OWS and #BlackLivesMatter. Most recently, Google employees walked out over the launch of Project Dragonfly in China. It is time for a new media criticism that addresses both the use and structure of these companies, and their platforms. Now, more than ever, there is a need for an organization like Paper Tiger Television.”
