Hi all,

I'm a postdoc at the Annenberg Center for
Communication at USC, where I've been researching
identity performance and the semiotics of video
production, sharing, and reception on YouTube for a
MacArthur funded project on digital youth.

I have two academic papers accepted for presentation:

Fostering Friendship Through Video Production: How
Youth use YouTube to Enrich Local Interaction? to be
presented at the International Communication
Association Conference, May 24-28, in San Francisco,
California

Commenting on comments: Investigating the meaning
of emotional feedback on YouTube? to be presented at
the Society for Applied Anthropology, Annual
Conference, March 31, 2007 in Tampa, Florida.

And I have another called "How Tubers teach
themselves: Narratives of self-teaching as technical
identity performance on YouTube" which I just
submitted to 4s."

I'd be happy to talk more about my ideas once the
papers are written and presented!

Looking forward to hearing about what you find also.

Best regards,
Patricia G. Lange, Ph.D.
