>From download to upload the selected videos mine the internet to explore,
analyze, mimic, remix, the methods and materials of networked culture.

The social fabric of the internet and its relationship to the individual is
examined in videos by Annie Abrahams *(Mutant II*), Natalie Bookchin (*Mass
*Ornament, Laid Off) and Lorie Novak (*Reverb*). Roel Woeters and Jonathan
Puckey use the internet to crowdsource a video which they direct through
their website *Now Take A Bow*. Chatroulette is the subject of an analysis
by Casey Neistat (*Chatroulette*) and of a performance by Merton (*Funny
Piano Imrpov #1*) while Josh Bricker pairs video game and actual war footage
with visual precision in *Post Newtonianism*. Aesthetics particular to the
internet are explored in videos by Petra Cortright (*vvebcam*) Kristin Lucas
(*Background Story*) and Martin Kohout *Moonwalk*) all of which repurpose
web-based images in formal arrangements. Jon Satrom creates his work
*QTzrk*out of mistakes he encounters in the systems he explores.

The exhibition also features two databases of artist’s videos:* *
