Why TV networks are now 'sampling' shows on Facebook

With cord-cutting on the rise and audiences increasingly watching video on the Web, TV networks have started to “sample” their new series online in an effort to draw more viewers to their programming and services. Most often, this sampling has happened on YouTube. Recently, Amazon and HBO elected to preview their newest original series on Facebook, which once again shows how Facebook is encroaching on a territory that was once largely exclusive to YouTube.
