The eighteenth edition of LPM Live Performers Meeting starts in May 18th. For this second edition in Amsterdam the Meeting runs at RADION, a recovered space, turned in to a cultural venue that brings people together and stimulate creativity.

LPM is a unique moment to practice and join the field of live audiovisual performance: an unmissable spectacle during which the audience has the chance to meet the world’s largest selection of active live visual artists; a gathering for share knowledge and ideas, projects and experiences, without neglect a strong party attitude.

Thanks to a rich and experimental program based on the newest audiovisual languages, techniques and technologies, LPM 2017 offers 4 days and 175 activities of audiovisual performances, VJing, live mapping, workshops, panel discussion and product showcases presented by more than 350 artists, professionals and passionate from all over the world, who applied the open call who gained more than submissions.

The program aims at exploring different themes through new audiovisual languages, techniques and technologies and with many different activities, i.e. workshops related to Live-Coding, LED mapping and stage design for events, gestural control of music and bodily musical performance. Presentations of platforms, tools, locals vjs communities from 5 different continents, a conference on AV Audience Development, video installations related to politics and cultural ensemble, interactive cameras catching and transforming bodies and faces in animated gif, personal and meta data tracing.

On May 17th Mediamatic and LPM Live invite to Biotalk: Algorithms from Nature, a talk with Federico Corradi, Gianluca Del Gobbo and Timo Dufner. They will give us a glimpse of the potential of nature’s algorithms for digital art and illustrate this with a live audio visual experimental act.

As for the most spectacular and trigger side of LPM, a Live Mapping Contest running from 18 to 20 May and two night parties hosted by Radion Club on Friday and Saturday, along with the best djs of the local scene will frame the Meeting.

The Meeting aims to promote transnational movement and exchange of ideas, artworks and artists. All funds recovered by LPM are assigned to support innovative research and experimentation in the field of live visuals with the latest technologies.

LPM is produced by Flyer Communication, Linux Club, FLxER.net, Radion, Videomapping Mexico and co-organized thanks to the cooperation of important international partners.

LPM is part of the cultural cooperation LPM 2015 > 2018 (https://avnode.org/activities/lpm-2015-2018/)  realized within the international audiovisual network AVnode, with the contribution of the Creative Europe Culture Program for European Cooperation Projects, involving 14 partners from 13 European countries.
