Dear Video Vortex community members,
how are you all? Send a sign of life!
Work on the third Video Vortex reader is progressing well in this strange and extraordinary time. The responses are amazing.
The idea started straight after VV#12 in Malta, last September. Now the concept has evolved from putting a text on the INC VV blog to a third reader (the last one came out nine years ago!).
We’re using this opportunity to look back at the past YouTube decade. Here is the 0.1 version of the table of content. The essays that have not been submitted yet are not yet listed here. We’re still open for suggestions so please check your archives if you got something related to the aesthetics and politics of online video…
We’re still very interested in essays on drones, streaming, the politics of video conferencing and the Zoom drama :( Contact us if you still want to submit something over the next week. Needless to say this has to be an existing text.
We hope to do get the editing and production done in April but let’s see how things go. Our Rotterdam-based copy editor is Jack Wilson, our designer is the INC intern Tommaso Campagna, here in Amsterdam.
Stay safe,
Geert Lovink & Andreas Treske
