I am writing on behalf of the Project CineMaas team. We are students from Maastricht University taking up the Master of Arts in Media Culture programme (2010-2011).
For our second and final semester, we have been working on a collaborative research initiative that explores how the concept of European cinema is constructed in film festivals and how certain aspects of European identity, such as social and physical environments, are depicted in films.
Less than three months ago, we launched an educational blog (http://projectcinemaas.org) to serve as a platform to showcase our investigations . In there, you will find information about the films and film festivals that we are using as case studies. We are still populating the edublog with content but you will already find several posts, including interviews with directors, film festival officials and audiences. There are also film recommendations, suggested literature and other resources relevant to European cinema and identity.
We welcome all of you to visit it. If you have any feedback or would like to contribute contents relevant to our topic, please do not hesitate to get in touch and let us know. Thank you very much.
On behalf of Katerina Ivanova, Alis Vakiari and Dan Shao
