Undocumented workers in the cleaning industry must be aware that the
authorities will make surprise visits.
The "Arbeidsinspectie", or labour inspection has announced intensive checks,
especially in the province of North Holland.
They have received information about illegal emplyment, underpayment and
fraud with social benefits.

The labour inspection can come without warning to work places and demand all
sorts of documents from workers and employers.
If the inspection suspects fraud or believes that a person is illegal, they
can hand her or him over to the police.

We advice undocumented workers to be alert, to move away when an inspection
occurs and to make full use of their legal right to legal assistance when
caught.
