Interesting read!

On the artificial division between politics and art, all art is as 
political as any other form of communication. Even expressly 
non-political artforms, such as authorized (and banal) civic art is 
political in its denial of the political.

You mention that "Claire Bishop /opposes the political and the artistic 
aspects of collaborative artistic practice"/ -- curious, but is this not 
the same as opposing the tide? I have not read Bishop, so can not 
imagine on what bases one would oppose the manifestly obvious.

The whole business of choosing between politics and art is a false 
dichotomy (as I think you are suggesting).

It is time to get past the 20th century's way of thinking of such things.
