Onderstaande post heb ik net gestuurd naar de 'uncivilization' lijst, ik 
ga me niet nog een keer herhalen, dus in het Engels, sorry.

Bristol zou een inspiratie voor Amsterdam kunnne vormen, al is de stad, 
met het verdwijnen van de Boterbloem niet echt op de goede weg. Er zijn 
nietemin nog vele inspirerende initiatieven gaande (al dan niet uit de 
'Fake the City' hoek ;-) maar het moeten er alleen maar meer worden - al 
moet je er concreet niet al te veel van verwachten.

The article does give a pretty extensive overview of the various 
features and potential applications of urban farming, with their 
advantages and drawbacks, and of what can reasonably be expected from it 
(and what not) in terms of impact on the food provision, all of which 
supported  by some 'hard' numbers. Also emphasizes that 'it's not gonna 
be easy'.

Myself I am none too optimistic about the potential of urban farming 
(and of 'alternative' agriculture in general) on a large scale - and 
small scale is just not good enough. But it provides ample room for 
discussion. And of course it's not a reason not to engage in it.
