Dear friends,

Shorna Pal, a researcher from India, has e-mailed me this request to save
the Mumbai Film Festival which is facing an unprecedented financial crisis
this year. It would be great if you could assist or spread the word to
relevant parties.

Watch the best of films from across the world with Bollywood superstars
and eminent global film personalities.

Please go on www.mumbaifilmfest.org/pledge
<http://www.mumbaifilmfest.org/pledge> to contribute.

Contributions start from INR 5000 (£50) for which you get an invitation to
the festival's opening night.

The festival is just over a month away and we really need your support to
reach the finishing line.

With over 200 films from 65 countries around the world screened and master
classes presented by film luminaries such as legendary director Bruce
Beresford, the 15th Mumbai Film Festival presented by Reliance
Entertainment and organized by MAMI was truly a grand success.

However the 16th festival scheduled for this year (October 14-21) is
facing a financial crisis with the end of a five-year-long partnership
with Anil Ambani¹s Reliance Entertainment.

With the committed support of the public and film personalities across the
world, a massive online social campaign #pledge4MAMI has so far raised INR
20 million towards its required budget of £50 million. Bollywood has
involved itself in a big way with leading actor-producer Aamir Khan
pledging INR 1.1 million. Filmmakers including Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu
Vinod Chopra, have also provided financial support to the festival.
Cinestaan Film Company, promoted by Anand Mahindra and Rohit Khattar, has
committed Rs.60 lakh to the fest.
