I mention them in passing in relation to festival ephemera in Ger Zielinski
“On studying film festival ephemera. The case of queer film festivals and
archives of feelings,” in Film Festivals: History, Theory, Method,
Practice, eds. Marijke de Valck, Brendan Kredell, and Skadi Loist.
Routledge (2016).

A fascinating topic, it would be a vast study if not sharply defined. There
is likely a decent accumulation of work on regular film trailers, for
comparison.
