Dear FFRN members,

At our work group meeting at NECS this year, Skadi and Marijke proposed the continuation of Film Festival Research Network's online seminars. We, Rachel Johnson, Juliana Muylaert and Estrella Sendra, are delighted to act as coordinators of this academic year's seminars - we include our bios below in case you'd like to know more about each of us.

Thank you to all who attended our first meeting in collaboration with the Human Rights Film Network in October. We are delighted to invite network members to send proposals and suggest titles for our next meetings.

We are suggesting a general theme of 'space', and invite ideas related to the theme and following topics:

  *   Decolonisation
  *   Audiences
  *   Inclusivity, access, safe spaces
  * Festival locations - physical, digital and/or fragmented
  * Intersections of history, geography and power
  *   Diasporas
  *   Disciplinary spaces
  *   Archives and archival practices

* You are welcome to propose other topics related to the theme of space.

Please send us your seminar proposals - including a title, abstract and speaker bio(s) - using this Google Form<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2Ffmz2SNjaxetAsCcz6&data=05%7C01%7CR.Johnson%40leeds.ac.uk%7Cb03482de40584d85cd4a08dade0c7ccf%7Cbdeaeda8c81d45ce863e5232a535b7cb%7C1%7C0%7C638066442453500176%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=c8ZGMw8yNBjDCwcU0BIu5lLlRQb%2B622rffTsmHccCUE%3D&reserved=0>.

Feel free to propose either a multi-presentation seminar with several speakers, or an individual presentation. If we receive several individual presentation proposals, we will endeavour to organise these into a seminar/seminars around a shared theme.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us<mailto:R.Johnson at leeds.ac.uk;%20estrella.sendra at kcl.ac.uk;%20jumuylaert at gmail.com?subject=FFRN%20research%20meetings%20'23>. We look forward to receiving your proposals.

Best regards,

Rachel, Estrella and Juliana
