Masked storytellers, oil smugglers and delicious cooking
- Iraqiscope is a platform for films and video clips made in Iraq

The reality beyond Baghdad’s Greenzone, the life of regular people, their
culture, their
struggles and their visions are hidden from the eyes of the world.

TV screens only show scattered fragments of Iraqi reality while general
distrust in mass
media spread all over the world. Public interest in the Iraqi case decreased
drastically. Iraq
represents the failure of mass media in raising international awareness and
public opinion
when it is needed most.

Iraqiscope wants to fill this media gap by showcasing video clips, movies
and short-films
made by Iraqis about their daily life, their culture and their politics.

What is on Iraqiscope?
-> Home made Clips
Iraqiscope allows people to easily upload and share video clips. On
Iraqiscope people can
see first-hand accounts of current events, made by Iraqis from the inside
perspective, and
find out about the diverse culture and society from all parts of the
country. We see how to
prepare Iraqi fish, confessions of masked people and young musicians.

-> Film Archive
Iraqiscope is an online archive for productions made in Iraq such as
documentaries, short
films and feature movies.
Among many others Iraqiscope introduces “Where is Iraq?” from Baz Shamoun,
the new
documentary by Ziad Turkey “Under the Ashes” and international productions
such as the
highly acclaimed film by Layth Abdulamir “Song of the Missing Men”.
