VIDEO CACHE

VIDEO CACHE launches November 24, 2010, with a screening and
curatorial presentation at GIV, in Montreal (Canada).

VIDEO CACHE is also a month-long online exhibit showcasing ten works
from the (currently) defunct Mediatheque, Canada's first and largest
video art archive. The Mediatheque collection consisted of 486 videos.
These works were made available for free in 2003 through the
Mediatheque portal, and remained online until a server crash in 2009.
The server crash meant the loss of the entire project - nothing was
backed up. VIDEO CACHE presents - and re-contextualizes online - ten
works curated by SAW Video Director, Penny McCann, in collaboration
with Mél Hogan & Nikki Forrest of WAYWARD.ca, sponsored by GIV
(givideo.org).
